It’s My Bathroom I’ll Cry If I Want To

The Bathroom Is Not Finished!

How is that for keeping it real?  Remember this post about a challenge party that I was brave stupid enough to participate in?  Me the girl who is a professional procrastinator posted that she was going to finish a bathroom in two weeks.  I tried!

I started with white walls, a ceiling that was hideous, ugly grey sticky tiles for a floor (of course they were not sticking), not one single thing hanging on the walls, bathroom accessories that were disgusting, I think I said it best in the original post.

My bathroom was a hot mess.

I posted a little update about a week ago right here.  I was enjoying foo fooing the bathroom with The Baby Girl and doing it on a very tight budget.

The walls are painted.  I still need another blue towel and some small hot pink towels to go over the white towels.  Hopefully this weekend we’ll find those.

My big frustration (and this room has caused many) is what to put in the middle of that white frame, my first intent was a simple wreath hung from a ribbon…tried a few….you don’t see a simple wreath hung from a ribbon do you…..then I thought who doesn’t like a big initial….first I spray painted it white….nope not the right color…..then I tried hot pink….hmmmmm nope……did I mention frustration?  Any suggestions?  What about vinyl words?  If so, what words?

I love my floor.  Maybe there is a lesson learned, I went to a showroom picked out the floor, wrote a check and a professional came and installed the floor.  Love it!

I love these accessories.  The are perfect for the girls.  There is a soap dish and lotion thingy.  Aren’t they the cutest?  Did I mention I found them for less then $10 for the set?  Woo Who!!

These are the curtains for the peeling cabinet door, they need to be ironed and Mr. Wonderful needs to hang the rod for me.  Aren’t they adorable?

The To-Do-List is still long, but we’ve come a long way baby.

I haven’t read the post yet over at Melissa’s, but would it be horrible if I admitted I hope I’m not the only one who didn’t finish…off to read…..

About Michelle

I started my blog as a way to connect with other paper crafters and of course it has gone a totally different direction. I've been able to share my experience as a mother, my hurt and disappointments over not having a relationship with my maternal unit, my walk with God and how knowing Him has changed me and continues to help me grow into the person I strive to be......

You’ll be happy to hear that you are not alone in not completing your procrastination project. I too only got part way done & so did the majority of participants (at least that is what I keep telling myself). Melissa needs to have a followup project procrastination party for us true procrastinators. There seems to be some wanabe procrastinators, but they got their projects done. So we know who the true procrastinators are, don’t we?

Oh, I forgot to mention that the bathroom looks fabulous so far. And I don’t have a clue what to put in the frame. Sorry.

  3. You are soooo not alone! I got one of my 3 pretty small projects done that I signed up for, and the one I did was the simplest and I finished it about 4 am this morning, lol….Nothing like waiting til the last minute! Anyway, I LOVE your bathroom so far, it is going to look Great when you are done, the colors are awesome! I love the shower curtain and those cute little curtains for the doors. As far as the frame what about putting a board or cork behind it covered in some pretty cordinating fabric then put the initial in there or some fun pictures of your girls, I have this really cute picture my mom made me a long long time ago when my oldest was a baby and stayed with her a night, she took some really cute closeups of him in bathing, made them black and white, took some textured wallpaper border, painted it and framed it and I have always had it in my bathroom and I love it! But you could do some neat fabric, or scrapbook paper and add some black and white photos and it would be super cute! Good Luck, It will look Fabulous when you are done!

It’s k if the projects didn’t finish on the deadline. Just keep going till you reach the goal. No one, are competing in this party.

I can see that your BR looks better. Well, am not sure if you like quotations. I prefer to have a quote in the frame every week or whenever you feel to write something.

He he… another project? But that’s only a suggestion.

    Enjoy!

Looking great so far! I haven’t finished my project yet so don’t feel bad.

I love it so far and really, you are so close. I think that counts a lot.
If it were me I would consider a hand attached to the wall and coming out of the frame in a very pale flesh tone and have the hand holding a small bouquet of flowers. Now good luck finding one. Perhaps make one from plaster, but seal it very well. Like I said “if it were me”. But I do think something very unexpected would be cool.

  7. I love it, you accomplished a lot. I especially like the part about going to the showroom, picking out the floor and a professional doing it. YOU GO GIRL, that is thinking! I love that.
It looks really pretty and I am glad you got started on it!

  8. Your bathroom is looking great! So fun and colorful.

I have to apologize. I was just re-reading an old post and I saw that you left a comment for me about featuring my blog sometime in Feb. Well now that it is May, I just wanted to say I’m sorry for not responding. I’m sure I would have loved to have been featured, but either missed your comment, or meant to get back to it, and spaced it. In either case I’m sorry and thanks for your nice comment.

Like Melissa said ” baby steps” “Even if we don’t finish, we’ll be farther along than if we hadn’t started.” I’m sure it’ll be just the way you like it when its all done.

thanks for the comment on mine.
