Thrift Store Sign

The DIY Show Off

Last year I had so much fun making Teacher Signs using a friend’s Cricut.  I had so much fun Mr. Wonderful bought me my very own Cricut, I used it three times over the past twelve months.  I know shame on me.

Knowing I had only used the thing three times I was a little nervous to “help” Kate and Robyn this weekend make some signs, but we figured it out and I then had a “Cricut Itch”.  I came home and wanted to play, but my room was such a mess I couldn’t find anything….I made myself clean it (see the post right here with pics)…..and I used the Cricut…..boy did I use the Cricut….Mr. Wonderful is worried about what wall I’ll do today….he should be.

So last year I had a couple of extra boards and I made a couple Believe signs, they were cute.  I got lucky a few weeks ago at Goodwill I got three boards still wrapped in plastic for a dollar a piece.  I got to creating yesterday and this is what I came up with.

The board was unfinished I spray painted it a Colonial Red, sanded the edges and applied a dark walnut stain.  I had never used stain before and now I am in LOVE with stain.  I applied the BELIEVE from vinyl I cut out using the Cricut.  I spent $1, I would like to tell you this is a Christmas gift for someone BUT I won’t lie….I’m keeping it!!!

I will finish the other signs tonight and post them tomorrow….they are different and will be gifts….MAYBE!

My next project involves these yummy fabrics……stop by next week to see what I come up with.

About Michelle

I started my blog as a way to connect with other paper crafters and of course it has gone a totally different direction. I've been able to share my experience as a mother, my hurt and disappointments over not having a relationship with my maternal unit, my walk with God and how knowing Him has changed me and continues to help me grow into the person I strive to be......
