I recently read somewhere that turquoise is the 2010 color of the year, I love when I’m a trend setter. My “Happy Place” was the first time I we painted furniture, I was addicted.
I didn’t see The Colour Challenge until late Friday night so I was just going to use the old post about “The Happy Place”, but I kept going back to the challenge to tackle a new project.
This dresser had been moved four times, but not used. It was moved from garage to garage. I bought it 20 years ago and couldn’t figure out what to do with it, the confusion was over what “color” to paint it. However Mr. Wonderful convinced me to stain it and not paint it, I happen to love it. I don’t love the hardware (that is the original hardware), I’m thinking turquoise glass knobs.
I didn’t get a good before picture, partly because I was only going to “play” with the dresser. As usual the project took on a life of it’s own.
I love the glass knobs, what do you think?
I am creating a Guest Room since The First Born moved out and the dresser was the beginning of that room. I had already decided on turquoise and brown as my colors I just wasn’t sure how to pull it all together.
I am loving how the room is coming together, I like that I’m not in a hurry and can really put it together at my own pace. I have another “project” that is coming together and I’m hoping you’ll come back to see what I’ve done with the room.
Stop by Funky Junk Interiors and see what everyone else came up with for The Colour Challenge.
That’s one terrific dresser! I love the casters. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished product. What are the Good Morning notes in the basket? Looks like a sweet story there.
Thanks for visiting.
I love turquoise too and have for a very long time. Come by my blog to see some turquoise stuff. I love your’s.
Love the turquoise knobs! They will add the perfect touch of colour to your dresser, especially with that colourful quilt. I also like stained pieces sometimes too.
Oh wow, I’ve never seen glass knobs like that! Gorgeous!
Your colour pops are loads of fun! Good for you!

I love the knobs and I think they will look great with the dresser, You and Carl did a good job the dresser looks good, I think staining it was the right thing and the knobs will give it the color your looking for.
Also like the wooden knobs you painted and stained, what are you going to do with them.
love the new look of your blog
