Ok I’m still without access to my camera, the day was too full to go and get that USB cord.  It is painful.  Remember the window?

It is finished, it has been painted, distressed, cleaned, and “Christmasfied”!  You might be asking exactly what does “Christmasfied” look like?  Well, if I had that silly USB cord I would be showing you.  Try to imagine, black spray paint, a sander, red and white ribbon (2 different patterns), red berries, the word JOY and some burlap-oh yeah and imagine I did it all with no sewing.  The First Born saw it and said, “Mom that’s awesome.” 

So since I can’t show off my own masterpiece I thougth I would show off some other people’s materpieces, sound good to you?

I am not going to sneak in an advent calendar this year, no time.  I am going to do one after the holidays.  I’ve decided that next year I’m going to do a Christmas “something” every month.  I want to be reminded next year that December 25th is my favorite day of the year and I am going to celebrate it ALL YEAR.  An advent calendar is a must have for that list, isn’t this one adorable?

I usually am drawn to red and sparkly, but something about this pinecone art makes me drool.

I love the look of this garland, I actually covet it.  I want it bad.

Tomorrow The Baby Girl and I are going to go crafting with a friend BUT first we are going to the camera store for a USB cord, stop back by to see what “Christmasfied” looks like.

Let the craziness begin.  I’m so excited.

The boxes are out of the attic and all over my house, the tree is up, the garland is on it and I scored a $59 Tom Tom from Walmart.com today without ever leaving my house.  Do you have a visual of the boxes all over my house, you better because the USB cord broke on my camera….UGH! 

The Baby Girl’s tree is decorated, we started the tradition a few years ago and she loves it.

Is that the cutest group ever?  The Baby Girl was not loving having her picture taken.  The boys are participating in “No Shave November”, yes it’s something that boys do.  I think this is Mr. Perfect’s third attempt.

I loved my table yesterday and so did the kids.  We just had a touch of some family drama in the beginning and then the rest of the day was a delight.  What would a holiday be without a little family drama.

Happy Turkey Day!

Well the long awaited day is finally here, I love Thanksgiving.  I have been preparing for days ok weeks, but whose keeping track right?

The bird is in the oven, the potatoes are in the crockpot and I’m thankful today for two crockpots because the other one is filled with stuffing.  I got these two recipes over at Kelly’s during what else a blog party.  The table is set, yes I set it yesterday.

I have to say setting the table turned into major stress and drama.  I thought I had an eight piece set of china, nope.  I had to make a quick run to Old Tyme Pottery last night and grab some white plates to set the second table, I don’t like the table but still fussing with it so I’ll show those pictures later.  “The Kids” are going to be at the above table and then Mr. Wonderful, The Baby Girl and I will be at the other table.  I like my placecard holders and I think the kids will get a kick out of them.

Looking at my table the only thing that isn’t a great thrift find is my napkins and silverware.  The centerpiece, the tablecloth, the china and the glasses are from the thrift store.

Once dinner is over we are going to see Blind Side and then I’m coming home to start Christmas decorations.  I have a project in process in the garage, it involves an old window, garland, burlap, ribbon and Christmas cards I hope you stop by tomorrow to see what I come up with.

The camera is dead, I went to the store bought the wrong batteries.  Forgot the pickle relish had to send Mr. Wonderful to the store.  I better get off this computer or I’ll be in trouble too much to do to blog today…..

Well, well, well….I DID IT!! 

I can’t tell you how happy I am to see those dots wrapped around that cup of coffee, I know I should try to be real cool and tell you I saw these little wraps on Etsy and wanted to make them for my coffee loving friends and just whipped them right up.  I CAN NOT TELL A LIE. 

Don’t you love the zebra print, too bad I forgot to turn the fabric right side out before I sewed the ends shut, the green polka dot wrap on the table too short, the Bengals fabric too short…..just a few examples of my mishaps.  I will say I found NOTHING enjoyable about this experience.  It was painful.  I now know what I’m doing so tomorrow is another day and I’m going to make 10 of these if it kills me, I’ll even be adding little 3×3 pockets…..stinkin’ cute.  Coffee wraps today, chair slipcover just around the corner.

Ok I have a huge piece of burlap screaming, “Come Play with me.”

This is my effort of “going green” no more cardboard for me.

I guess I do my best work under pressure, I’ve been saying for months that I wanted to participate in MoJo Monday and Monday would come and go and I would not create a card.  I repeated this same experiment over and over from Monday to Monday.  However, today with a 1,001 projects going on I had to create a card.  I am crazy.

Does that sketch make you want to run to your “Happy Place” and get to creating, I understand that’s exactly what it did for me.

They play football on Thanksgiving so I think it’s ok if I play a little game of my own.

I put together a little Thanksgiving Mini Book and AFTER I finished it the thought struck me that my wonderful children might not think my book is as adorable as I do, who would have thunk it?  I pondered for a minute, I thought what is mother to do?  Then I remembered what I’ve been doing since the beginning….BRIBERY.  It worked for potty training, cleaning rooms, and curfew so surely it’ll work for this silly little book.

In each envelope is a prompt, one says Blessings, one says Remember This, one says Grateful etc.  They are similar to the one I love the most which I put in the book already.

Now you are probably wondering what am I going to bribe them with, well I thought about making them play before dinner…no game….no food.  Just kidding.  By bribe will be scratch off lottery tickets, $1 a kid. 

These two cute girls will probably do it just to take their momma happy.

This boy will have to be bribed, guilted, and maybe even threatened.  Since I try to keep my blog G Rated I won’t share his thoughts, but I will let you know if he can be bought for a $1.

Today The Baby Girl and I wrapped presents for a local hospice, and it really got me thinking.  What would you do differently if you knew this was your last Christmas?  Would you spend more or less, would you wrap your gifts or continue to throw them in a gift bag, would you slow down and remember the reason we celebrate, would you create special memories for your family and friends?  How many Christmas cards would you mail if you knew it was your last chance to say, “Merry Christmas.” 

I prayed as I wrapped each gift that whomever opened the gift would know Christ and that they would leave this world with peace.  I prayed that as The Baby Girl wrapped each gift she was learning that we really do get back from this world what we give. 

Of course it also got me thinking, what would I do differently?  I have thought about it all day.  I can’t think of one thing I would do differently if I thought this was my last Christmas, if you can’t say that then do whatever is on your heart. 

In the last two days I’ve had some conversations centered around elderly ladies that have a pretty poor quality of life.  I have been so sad for these two ladies, one who has a family and one who doesn’t.  I hate to judge, but how does a family member talk about how much better someone’s life would be if they could just have someone put a pillow over their head?  What is wrong with this world.  Instead of looking for a way to improve someone’s quality of life sit around and complain about them being here.  Really?

Ok I can’t end this post with such doom and gloom.  I have to get myself in a different state of mind.  You can’t change stupid.

Today The First Born and Scot with one T came over and got Christmas ornaments.  It got me in the mood for Christmas so how about we talk about Christmas?

Be kind to someone this week, maybe even someone you don’t know.  I promise you if you stop by your local grocery store pick up a $5.99 bouquet of flowers and pull up to a local nursing home there is someone in that nursing home that has NO ONE that would smile from ear to ear if a bouquet of flowers showed up in their room.  The receptionist will know just the right person, just try it.

I am burning the candle at both ends I know that comes as a shocker to some of you.  I am a “Crafting Crazy Chick” right now.  I have a To Do List that seems to NEVER end.  Let’s see.  I’ll be posting a project or two each Tuesday from now until Christmas right here.  I will post instructions and a link to the blog I found the treasure at.  If you see something on the list and you want to point me in the direction of a great example suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I can’t wait to work my way thru all the post over at Kootoyoo and see what’s being created.  As I posted earlier this week I did a massive purge in my creative space, I needed some type of order for all the creating I have planned from now until Christmas(each Tuesday you’ll find a new project right here).   

Tonight is a big night for me, I’m getting a sewing lesson.  YIKES!  The plan is to turn the above eye candy into these absolutely adorable little gifts.

I thought I would end the year with a very easy project…Simple snap wallets or card holders.

I have a feeling I won’t feel the same way.  LOL…if some of you are smarter then I am and just want to purchase these sweet things you can right here.  I think I’m going to put a little keychain on mine.
